Portrait FAQ

Do you offer studio sessions?

No, I always shoot on location and work primarily with natural light.

What does ‘on location’ mean?

We will work together to choose a location that is most comfortable for the person I am photographing. For seniors that could be a sports field or the library. It could be your favorite coffee shop. If you're looking for something with a more urban vibe, we can work to find the perfect backdrop. The possibilities are endless.

For children, I like to shoot where they will feel most at home or where they will feel the most comfortable being themselves.

How far will you travel for a location?

Session fees involve 30 miles of travel in each direction. Travel fees apply for anything further.

How long will it take to process my photos after my session?

2-3 weeks.

How many images will I get to see with your standard session?

I hand select 30-40 images from each session. I pour a great deal of care and love into the moments I capture and how they are presented to each of my clients. Each individual image is custom edited and I spend about 6 hours on custom processing before they are ready for viewing and ordering.

How do I view and order my photos after they are processed?

Once your photos are processed, we will meet for a viewing and ordering session. Each client will have the option of receiving one set of printed 4x6 proofs* or a disc of images for screen viewing only*. During the session, we go through the images together to choose your favorites and select your print sizes. At this time I will also show you samples of specialty items that may be ordered.

Do you have a print order minimum?

There is no minimum when scheduling a standard Senior or Child Portrait Session. The Fast and Fleeting mini portrait session requires a $150 print minimum. With the Fast and Fleeting Mini Session, the same amount of love and attention to detail will go into the images you receive and I spend about 2 hours on custom processing. This session is a great option for those who want custom portraits at a smaller investment.

Do you offer discounts or promotions?

What does “custom photography” mean?

As a photographer, the best compliment I can receive is when a client looks at a picture and says that I truly "captured" my subject and who they are. Every person I photograph is different and every session is tailored to suit the individual. I certainly have my own style when it comes to how I shoot, but I spend a lot of time communicating with each client so that I can be certain my style will work with their own personal vision. I meet with each client before and after each session. I offer high quality prints and keepsake products to my customers. I strive to produce the kind of experience that is positive and memorable. My ultimate goal is to produce images that are exceptional.
